Cast in Wisdom – Michelle Sagara
A weak entry in an excellent ongoing series. This book was okay. It didn’t tell a riveting story or noticeably advance a larger story. (Some plot elements are being pushed along - for example Emmerian’s - but not enough to carry the weight of the book.)
The crew investigates something strange and suspicious. It succeeds because Kaylin has a wild-card talent that does what the story needs, a wild-card familiar that ditto, and a bunch of guests with powers that do what the story needs.
I think this is a wonderful series - but this book did not make it a better series.
