Facets of Revolution – T.A. White

I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read by this author, which is probably why I’ve read them all. I enjoyed FofR, and I expect to read and enjoy the sequel. The book has several strong, interesting characters, and more layers of backstory are revealed.

The plot has two distracting problems. The plot is weak. Its purpose is not to give the story structure but to give the protagonist a chance to shine. It seems as if, every time three pages go by without excitement, someone emerges from the shadows to toss an incendiary device or a plot device at our hero. The plot doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. You’d expect, at the end of book four, to have a sense for whether you are near the end of the overall story. The answer here seems to be that Kira will stumble from crisis to crisis as long as the author wishes to continue.
