Trials of Conviction – T.A. White

I’ve enjoyed every book White has published. I enjoyed this one.

The good: Many of the dangling plots are resolved - or at least reach better resting places. The less-good: This book had a pacing problem. Every shadow holds an ambush, every step is interrupted by a surprise attack, every stepping stone turn out to be a landmine, and everything that can go wrong takes the shortest route into the toilet. It gets in the way of the story after a while.

Best supporting character: Elena, the girl who was kidnapped at the end of the previous book, and is now in enemy hands. She has an attitude problem, but she came by it honestly.
